Information We Collect

When you create a Pianora account, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: your email address, username, and profile picture (if provided via Google Sign-In).
  • Practice data: lesson progress, scores, practice time, and completion records.
  • Device information: device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and analytics.
  • Audio data: when using microphone input, audio is processed locally on your device and is not stored on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Pianora service.
  • Sync your progress across devices so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets).
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve our courses and features.
  • Respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Our infrastructure is hosted on secure cloud providers with SOC 2 compliance.

Third-Party Services

Pianora integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Google Sign-In: for account authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Sentry: for error tracking and crash reporting. We send minimal data (error stack traces, device info) to help us fix bugs.
  • Stripe: for payment processing (when available). Pianora does not store your credit card information. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • LGPD (Brazil): you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. You may also revoke consent at any time.
  • GDPR (EU/EEA): you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability. You may also object to processing.
  • CCPA (California): you have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal data).

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the Pianora app. Go to More > Profile > Delete Account. Once confirmed, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

You may also request deletion by emailing support@pianora.org.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
